Here’s a brief rundown of our most popular treatments. Unless you ask for a specific modality and want nothing else, Marina will use the techniques that best address your needs.
Marina’s Swedish massage relaxes the entire body, releases tension, and induces calm. A great way to relax and pamper yourself.
Moroccan Hot Stone Massage
Hot stones have been used since ancient times to heal. The heat melts away tension, soothes the autonomic nervous system, and stimulates circulation. Hot stone massage warms and loosens the tendons, giving you relief from pain and muscle spasms.
An ancient therapeutic practice which promotes relaxation and healthy circulation. Thai massage is an interactive style of bodywork that is done on a floor mat, fully clothed. Please wear comfortable, loose clothing.
A vigorous massage with stretching. Incorporates friction, compression, and pressure point work. Lengthens and relaxes tight, overused muscles and helps prevent injury.
Japanese pressure point massage used to balance energy pathways, reduce stress, and relieve pain. Shiatsu is done on a floor mat while you are fully clothed. Please wear comfortable, loose clothing.
Reflexology with Reiki
Reflexology involves the application of appropriate pressure on specific points on the feet, hands, or ears which correspond to the organs and systems of the body. This pressure promotes release of tension and supports normalized function in the target area. Reiki is a Japanese technique and philosophy based on the idea that a life force energy flows through us. Reiki is a spiritual (not religious) practice designed to raise and enhance this energy to promote healing.
Breema is an interactive bodywork system which combines movement and touch with the art of being present. Its goal is to promote health and harmony.
Cranial Sacral Therapy seeks to restore the natural rhythmic movement found between the bones of the skull. It does the same for the movements of the sacrum. The purpose of this is to aid the circulation of cerebrospinal fluid throughout the central nervous system, promoting healing and wellbeing. It relaxes cranial muscles and helps heal the nervous system.
Lymphatic massage helps increase lymph flow which in turn removes toxins from the body and supports the immune system. It is often used to boost a sluggish immune system or to help the body heal a sports injury. Aromatic oils enhance the effect of the massage.
Body Energy Alignment with Massage
Intuitive bodywork that blends a relaxing massage with Chakra balancing and guided meditation. Restores your equilibrium, inside and out.
Pregnancy often brings both joy and discomfort. Backaches, leg cramps, swelling, and joint pain are commonly heard complaints. Massage encourages circulation, helps relax tension, and may alleviate the discomforts and anxiety caused by physical and hormonal changes. Many women find it helps them sleep better, which is a major plus at a time when discomfort can make it difficult to find a good sleep position.
Marina will provide you with cushions and encourage you to try different positions to make sure you are comfortable during your massage. Women with high-risk pregnancies should consult their doctor before starting a massage program.
Deep Tissue Massage
The deeper pressure of this massage helps release chronic muscle tension. It is used to reduce stress hormone levels and boost mood. The amount of pressure used is always based on your comfort level.
Massage techniques are adapted to safely and comfortably nurture the body and spirit of someone dealing with cancer. Your safety is our primary focus.
Sometimes thought of as acupuncture without the needles, acupressure involves pressure applied to various points on the body to release blocked energy that may be causing pain.
